Sisu is a special strength and persistent determination and resolve to continue and overcome in the moment of adversity…an almost magical quality, a combination of stamina, perseverance, courage, and determination held in reserve for hard times. Sisu is what our community was built on and what will sustain us in the future.

The Future of Sudbury's Seniors
The Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society provides housing alternatives and quality aging in place for our elderly multicultural population. With the growing need for affordable housing for seniors in the Sudbury community with low vacancy rates; lack of affordable housing; growing Alternate Level of Care issues with our hospital and lack of available Long-Term Care beds…as a community, we need a plan.The Lepokoti Supportive Housing Apartment Project will contain 82 affordable seniors’ supportive housing units, a new Wellness Centre, large-capacity community meeting space, and a financially viable solution for the entire community.
