If it takes a village to raise a child then it takes Finlandia Village to care for our seniors. For the past 30 years, Finlandia Village has been the cornerstone of care and accommodation for our aging family members and friends. The “Sisu: Assisted Living for Sudbury’s Seniors” campaign further completes this continuum of care for our community. It will alleviate the bed crisis at the hospital while providing a supportive independent lifestyle for seniors who need a little help with food, laundry and medical needs. Sisu is an inspiring Finnish word which loosely translated means inner strength or as my dad would say a strong backbone to stand up for what is right. Assisted living is right for seniors. Finlandia Village is the right place to build and operate these apartments. Dear Friends,
I reach out to you on behalf of the members of the Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society and the Finlandia Village family to request your financial support for our capital campaign, “Sisu: Assisted Living for Sudbury’s Seniors” in support of our new Lepokoti Supportive Housing development. Finlandia Village is a Finnish-style retirement village that residents from all cultural backgrounds love to call home. In this the 30th anniversary year of our founding we are proudly moving forward with our 6th housing project, an 82 unit assistive living facility which when completed will fill a critical gap for seniors in our community.
We have adopted the Finnish word SISU for this campaign, that is to say that we are committed to our mission and determined to fulfill it. To do this we need your help, show your SISU, please make your donation today. Kiitos and thank you.
